 Young Women in Public Affairs Award

The goal of the YWPA award is to encourage women students to enter careers in public affairs, public policy, and community organizations. The award recognizes the commitment of pre-university women students, aged 16 to 19 years, to serve their communities and to advance the status of women worldwide.

This award is granted annually by the Zonta Club of St. Catharines. Students attending high school in Beamsville, Grimsby, Lincoln, St. Catharines and Thorold are welcome to apply.

The local club award winner then becomes a candidate for the District award. The District 4 winner receives a Zonta International award of $5,000, U.S. Since 2003, the following club winners have won the District award and two have won the International award:

2014 Christina Weber
2017 Eva Ren (also an International winner)

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship helps women pursuing a business undergraduate or master’s degree who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field.

Value of local award: $1000
Application deadline, 2024:  June 1, 2024
Application Form available: January 2024 under Upcoming Events  or online at Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship.

The application of the local club winner is forwarded to the District Awards committee who select the District 4 winner of one of the 37 Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships valued at $5,000 U.S.
